01.The “not provided” context
A few years ago, in the wake of the NSA affair, Google introduced the famous “not provided” so that nobody could analyse the queries typed into its search engine (in the name of protecting individual freedoms).
That move, heavily criticised by professionals, had one radical consequence: it blocked every market-share analysis. The information simply disappeared from analytics tools.
02.Our solution
Our Baromètre Digital™ restores that analysis and improves on it without infringing individual freedom. It analyses customer potential on the Google organic results market, across every business sector in France.
The principle: rebuild a visibility ranking from positions, not from clicks. For each keyword in a sector we record every player's position, apply a declining CTR (51% in 1st position, 13% in 2nd/3rd, etc.), then consolidate. The result: a quantified, verifiable market share, comparable month after month.
03.The sectors audited every month
At launch, the Baromètre Digital™ covers every major sub-segment of the French financial sector:
Each sector gets a public audit, updated monthly:
- barometre-digital.fr/credit-immobilier
- barometre-digital.fr/credit-consommation
- barometre-digital.fr/rachat-de-credits
- barometre-digital.fr/assurance-credit
- barometre-digital.fr/banque-en-ligne
- barometre-digital.fr/retraite
- barometre-digital.fr/epargne
- barometre-digital.fr/affacturage
04.Sample audit, what the output looks like
Every link above includes a sample audit (produced before the public launch) with, for each player in the sector: average position, estimated traffic, estimated monthly customers, and change against the previous month. See also our detailed study of the insurance sector for a concrete read.
05.Order an audit
We adapt the Baromètre Digital™ to any sector on request: healthcare, real estate, construction, automotive, travel, fashion, energy, B2B software, and so on.
